If you're here, you may need support. This site will tell you what I do and how I can help you.

Please note that during the coronavirus pandemic, I am offering temporary reduced fee online sessions to those financially impacted.

Therapy should provide more than just "uh-huh" and "how does that make you feel?" Whatever you are experiencing - whether a specific crisis or a broader desire for self-understanding - you deserve a proactive approach that matches your specific needs, problems and strengths.

I provide therapy services online and in downtown Berkeley, CA. Although I have a diverse practice, my specialties include:

  • Working with gay men to develop an identity, lifestyle, and relationship that are true to their authentic selves

  • Affirming and informed psychotherapy for LGBTQ issues

  • Working with women around attachment, relationships and empowerment in a sexist & misogynistic culture

  • Providing affirming psychotherapy to transgender, genderqueer, nonbinary, and gender variant clients, including evaluative services and hormone & surgery referrals where appropriate

  • Healing attachment wounds and facilitating self-actualization through AEDP

If you do not fit into one of those categories, don't worry. My practice is open and welcoming to people from all walks of life.

I use a blend of evidence-based therapies which I adjust according to your needs. I help people work through a variety of challenges including anxiety, barriers to self-actualization, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship problems, questions of sexual identity, confusion around vocation and life purpose, and more.  Please read more about by background, education, training and areas of specialty. You can also check out my videos or read my blog to get a sense of what interests me and how I work.

Our work together will help you find clarity, hope, and encouragement as you move through your present difficulties into a richer, more joyful and fulfilling life. For many people, coming to therapy is among the most rewarding things they have ever done. You can read more about my former clients' experiences with me here.
